Gas boiler installed in kitchen in Mold

Should I buy a Boiler Care Plan?

When you are thinking of investing in a new boiler, there are several things to consider. First, there is the cost of the boiler and installation to think about and the various boiler finance options that may help to make it more affordable. Then, you will want to consider which type of boiler will be most efficient for your home - with the right boiler, you may well be able to reduce your heating costs. Another very important thing to think about is a boiler care plan. If your new boiler includes an extended warranty, you may wonder why this is necessary. Read on to discover why a boiler care plan is always a good idea.

What’s the difference between a boiler care plan and a guarantee

There is a common misconception that an extended warranty and a boiler care plan are the same thing and therefore you don’t need both. This is not correct. A guarantee provides you with the assurance that if your boiler breaks down due to a manufacturing fault, it will be repaired at no cost to you. Just like a car, your boiler will need servicing from time to time - ideally once a year - to keep it running smoothly. This is not covered by the guarantee but is covered by a boiler service plan.

Boiler care plans protect your warranty

Most manufacturer’s warranties make it a requirement to get your boiler serviced annually by a recognised engineer. If you don’t get your boiler serviced, you may invalidate your warranty.

Priority service when you need it most

Your boiler is the heart of your home, and you don’t want to get left in the cold if it fails. With a boiler care plan, you can relax and enjoy the comfort of your home, knowing that if anything happens, you are guaranteed express service as a priority customer.

Save money and avoid unexpected costs

With a boiler care plan, you can be sure that non-warranty repairs and servicing don’t leave you out of pocket. In fact, your annual boiler service often works out cheaper on a boiler care plan that it would be to pay for it as a one-off yearly expense. You can, of course, cancel your boiler care plan at any time should you wish to - but given the benefits, it is unlikely that you would want to.

How much does a boiler care plan cost?

Our boiler service plans start from as little as £5.50 monthly or £66.00 per annum for gas boilers and £7.50 monthly or £90.00 per annum for oil. This low-cost plan ensures that you never forget your annual boiler service and is designed to satisfy the manufacturer’s warranty requirements if applicable. They work alongside your warranty to give you the best possible value.

Our boiler care plan covers your annual boiler service as well as boiler system repairs, making it perfect if you have an old boiler that is no longer under warranty and you don’t require cover for the central heating system. The price includes your annual boiler service.

This includes cover for boiler breakdowns for all components within the boiler, automatic air valves, pressure relief valves and expansion vessel when fitted with the boiler, pumps and pump valves (external and internal) and controls including heating and water thermostats, programmer and motorised valves.

Our boiler care plan costs £14.40 monthly or £172.80 per annum for gas boilers and £18.00 monthly or £216.00 per annum for oil.

We also offer a heating care plan and a total care plan for those looking for both boiler and central heating systems.
